Funded Propositions

CCTV
The original intention was to purchase CCTV cameras and construct power columns to support their effective deployment. Mobile G3 CCTV cameras could then be moved into hotspot trouble areas within a matter of hours, assuming power columns are available. Royston First intended spending £25K on buying and maintaining a new camera for dedicated use in Royston and expanding the number of columns where coverage can be provided.

After initial installations had been achieved in the town centre and on the industrial estate, our local police indicated that ANPR technology better achieved their aims for proactive policing. Accordingly the remaining CCTV budgets were re-purposed for ANPR.
