Empty Shops
The number of vacant units in the town increased notably during 2006/7. Whilst there have been successes in attracting new traders, some premises inevitably remain on the market. We plan to set aside £5K a year to improve the appearance of empty shops and will use the funds to make them presentable and more saleable. We will be seeking the cooperation of landlords to assist us with a project that may include utilising empty windows for temporary displays.
